Overview of the Market Place
Throughout the first half of 2011 we have noticed an increase in new construction when compared to 2010. However, because the future of the market is so unpredictable, many suppliers and mills were caught with insufficient inventories to fill the current market demand. This resulted in price increases across the board for the building material industry this year. But, as with the law of gravity, in the building material industry what goes up must come down. There will be many factors that could cause materials to become cheaper in the upcoming months. A few of the obvious components to drive the prices down are: no major hurricanes have made landfall in our area, fuel cost are dropping, and the holidays are rapidly approaching. Myrtle Beach Building Supply is committed to keeping our customers competitively priced in today’s inconsistent market and we greatly appreciate all our dedicated customers who put their faith in us.
